About us

Hi, my name is Simone and I am the face behind Simone Louise Cakes.

I had a 23 year career in care work prior to pursuing my love of cake decorating. My cake decoration journey began over 16 years ago, when I attempted to make my eldest son's first birthday cake. It was inspired by his love of toy trains, but despite my best efforts, it was quite literally a train wreck!

I am known to my friends and family as a perfectionist, and as such I could not accept my failed attempt. I wanted to improve... and that has always been my philosophy, which drives me in my business.

I have a passion for trying different techniques and developing new skills. There is always something to learn.

I specialise in creating sugar floral work and hand-made models, but relish a challenge and the chance to expand into other areas of design.

I am very blessed to have a supportive husband and children. Fortunately, my husband has a design business (Design Etch Cut) so is able to create bespoke toppers for my cake creations. I do believe I'm his favourite customer!
